The A's have played a rain-caused doubleheader at Kansas City and had half of a scheduled doubleheader rained out on their current road trip. After a needed off-day Sunday, they hope to leave the weather questions behind as they take on the Tigers on Monday in the opener of a three-game series.... read more

Left-hander Greg Smith allowed just three hits in seven shutout innings, and Jack Cust hit two solo homers and drove in three, as the A's beat the Orioles, 5-1, on Saturday in the second game of a doubleheader. Game 1 was rained out.... read more

A's right-hander Sean Gallagher was in the clubhouse Saturday after a rehab stint with Triple-A Sacramento and said he was ready to start Wednesday in the series finale against the Tigers. Gallagher has been out since Aug. 19 with shoulder fatigue.... read more
